Former KPMG Executive Settles Peregrine Charges for $80K

Larry A. Rodda, once the managing director of KPMG Consulting LLC , accepted an enforcement action filed against him by the Securities and Exchange Commission on February 6, agreeing to pay $80,000 as a penalty in his corporate accounting fraud case .

Rodda did not admit or deny the SEC’s 2004 charges that as a KPMG director he aided and abetted the financial fraud perpetrated by officers of Peregrine Systems, the San Diego-based software company later acquired by Hewlett-Packard Co.

In late January 2008, Rodda was given a six-month prison term in the criminal case against him regarding the same conduct. Rodda had signed bogus software license agreements that allowed Peregrine to falsely record some $22 million in revenue.
